Nationwide (BlackNews.com) -- In Verizon's continued support of Black History Month, they have teamed with United Negro College Fund to give students a chance to further their education. Applicants are required to write an essay about how the evolution of wireless technology has changed the world we live in, and they can win a scholarship award toward their college tuition.
Thirty-seven eligible students will be selected for the 2010-2011 academic year and will receive a scholarship of up to $5,000 each. Select students will also receive a personal technology make-over including an HP Netbook, a Motorola DROID cell phone and/or Verizon Wireless gift cards.
The deadline for the scholarship is April 15, 2010.
