I felt compelled to stop and share this today as I heard about this on the Tom Joyner show this morning. My heart hurts for this boy and his family. I can't stop crying I guess because it hits home for me on so many different levels. Where is the justice? Where is the peace?

According to the Huffington Post:
Trayvon Martin, an unarmed African-American teenager, was shot and killed in a gated community in Florida late last month by a white neighborhood watch captain, according to police. But the watch captain, George Zimmerman — a 26-year-old college student who has admitted to police that he shot the young man — still walks free. And Martin's family is pleading for answers and demanding justice. (full article)

According to the TMJ show the precinct where all this took place has refused to release the 911 tapes on which there is information as to why Zimmerman did not listen to the request not to take action and why he felt compelled to confront Trayvon. This same precinct both lied and justified why they let Zimmerman go claiming it was self defense, he had a 'squeaky clean record', he was a college student. And then we later find out that Zimmerman has a previous police record. Why did they not arrest him? Why did they lie for him? Why does it take the most extraordinary circumstances for us to get the simplest of justice.

Pray for this family and pray for our deliverance from racial injustice.
